is it true that dr andrew wakefield had to not only resign from him job with the nhs but also had to leave this country over his findings that the mmr and autism have a direct connection? if this is so is the nhs right and you richard are wrong? surely the nhs is going to do all it can to protect our most natural resource i.e. our children!! who are we to believe?   clarke

The First part is true, however all he did was propose a theory that there was a link, he never said "there was a direct connection" imagine running the guy out of the country for raising a question. I have had measles, mumps, and rubella, my kids have not needed so much as a spoonful of Calpol, they can eat nuts and have no allergies are extremely healthy, so what exactly am I doing wrong do you think?

While the "NHS is doing all it can to protect our most natural resource" you could ask them to start  serving decent food to their patients and to wash their hands because this MRSA is getting out of hand??? And stop the advertising of junk food to children, thats for starters.

well then sara we just dont know do we!? what we should be doing is asking our public representatives what their views are - are they aware of any risks with these type of injections and whatever the response we should excercise our franchise accordingly!???  clarke

In 2000 the government amended its (link to it) vaccine compensation policy. Up until then children had to have been 80% disabled by the vaccination, now it has been reduced to 60% . However a cap of £100,000 was put on all payments.

I would also recommend the book "Helens Story" (John Blake Publishing) By Rosemary Fox outlining her 27 year fight for compensation for her daughter who was damaged by a polio vaccine in 1962.
