School Requirements for Immunisation?
Posted: 05 Nov 06 11:33 AM

Hello all, I'm new here, so hi. :)

I'm pregnant with our first child and have been seriously researching the vaccine issue for a wee while now.  My husband and I are still trying to come to an agreement, but we are certainly agreed on not allowing most vaccines and any we do allow being on our own time schedule.

What I'm wondering is if there are any laws in the UK like there are in the US regarding school admission for unvaccinated/partially vaccinated children.  I'm an American living in Scotland (though my husband is a born and raised Scotsman) so I don't have any personal idea of what goes into registering children into daycare/school.  I have searched the internet, but all I come up with are sites referring to American laws.  Does anyone have any information on this they could give me?

Thanks!  I'm glad I found this website, because I can already foresee a perfectly splendid road of criticism ahead of me and might need some friendly reassurance!!

Lori.

Hi Lori,  I also live in Scotland. There are no laws here like America, It is up to you if you have your child vaccinated, although you will probably be questioned as to why by doctors and health visitors. Sara
