A question from France Posted: 20 Mar 07 9:49 AM |

Hello everybody, I'm planning to come and live in UK in a few months with my family and I'd like to know what really are vaccines I'm obliged to do in UK for my children just in order to know what is the UK policy on that subject because in France it's very strict and being out of law is punished by jail for parents. Thanks a lot Aurelie

Hi Aurelie,
As far as I know, it is not compulsory to have your children vaccinated in the UK at all. Even if you want to send them to a UK school, there are no laws to say they have to be vaccinated. However, there may be pressure from Doctors/Health Visitors as they try to make you do it and almost make it sound compulsory, even though it is not.
Good Luck
