also, i need to know if in order to be accepted to kindergarten and elemntry in britain you need to show proof of vaccinating your child.
I would appriciate any relevant links to goverment education websites containing this information.

Hello Amybpt,
Vaccination is not compulsory in Britain and you would not need to show any documentation to a school about it. Sometimes booster jabs are administered in schools but parents have to sign a consent form first, however, it may be best to keep your child/children out of the school on those particular days just to prevent any mistakes from occuring, even if you did not sign a consent form!
Hope that helps!

Is this the same in Ireland?
When applying for nursery care, questions relating to vaccinations are asked. What advice would you have on breaching this delicate subject? |

| Dear Andrew,
My two children are now 8 and 9 and they have not been vaccinated. They are Irish born and educated and when they went to Creche I was asked to fill in the form. I knew if I said they were unvaccinated they would find an excuse not to accept them so I just ticked all the boxes as if they had been. It was never mentioned again and I was not asked for proof. I was more concerned about their contact with the vaccinated kids especially the babies as polio can be caught from the faeces of vaccinated babies and realistically parents are supposed to inform the creche that their children have been vaccinated so that the creche can be extra vigilant when changing nappies. I know this is never done.
I am not a medical professional by the wayjust an Irish Mother who is more than happy with the choices she has made. |
