Dear Andrew, Sorry I forgot to mention vaccination is not compulsary in Ireland although you get bombarded with letters from the Healthboard 'we see from our records your child has not been vaccinated' just keep throwing them in the bin and they soon get the message and they just stop

Thanks Eleanor - I'm sure it took great conviction to stay firm on your decision. Thanks for the advice - we have just arrived home with our newborn and do not intend on having her vaccinated. We are with the community midwife scheme (domino scheme) so we will be getting visits daily and then weekly for the near future. I know they are quite keen to encourage inoculation, so I will need to be armed :-)
