where can we find info on just how bad mercury fillings are? Most dentists state that only faulty mercury fillings "leak" mercury into the body - what do you think of that statement? regards

A dentist friend of mine told me they have to make special precautions for storing and disposing of amalgam. The guidelines seem to suggest that amalgam is not safe except when it is in someones mouth. Make what you will of that.

We sell a small book in the clinic "Dentistry Without Mercury" £6. It was last updated in 2001.

I come from Germany and was very surprised when I had a filling replaced in the UK with mercury amalgam, since it is basically out of use with most dentists in Germany and that without extra costs to the patient.

It was mainly left to the dentists if they still want to use it and that suggested to me that there has to be at least some truth to the 'rumors', since otherwise the inssurance firms in Germany would have protested the extra costs or tried to put them on the patient, which they didn't to my knowledge.

Thank you for this link...So very relevent to the vaccination issue of the build up of its use in childrens vaccines, and despite reducing/changing the amount in recent years, I still think it is too toxic for babies. One theory is that it is the mercury which is one of the issues in Autism, which includes toxicity from the mother's fillings...I seem to recall that dental work is not recommended during pregnancy. I have just had a gold filling, a normal white filling (which is still full of chemicals by the way) would have been too weak for this large broken molar. Apparently porcelain is the best but even more expensive. I asked the dentist what she used for her own fillings as she had repeated the mantra of 'amalgm no problem' despite the mercury level increasing several fold since the war. She replied that she was' lucky' enough to have been bought up in Birmingham where they have flouride in the water and doesn't have any cavaties! ...Toxitiy from flouride is another matter of course, but meanwhile I have signed the petition, thank you
