Thanks Richard,
Maybe I will go now, I would like to, I have just been worried about a confrontation. You make it sound so simple. I suppose there may well be others who go to the clinic who have not had their children vaccinated either, but I'll never know if I dont go myself.
Thanks :-) |

| I too am happy to have found this website! I have a 13 week old daughter and am being pressured by the doctors/health visitors to vaccinate her.
I asked them all questions about things i have been reading about and they tell me a set reply. They say that the immune system is fully able to cope and that the risks of disease are far greater than the risks of vaccination. HOWEVER, I know that they are using scare tactics and my gut reaction is to avoid the jabs at all costs.
It is great to find that there are many others who feel the same way as i already feel very isolated, particularly as the norm is to do whatever the health advisors tell us. |

So nice to read through the stories here! I myself am 26 weeks pregnant now and of course very interested in the future health of my child. After all I've read and also going along with my instincts I've decided against vaccination. My husband isn't as convinced as I am but trusts in my decision he says.
What's a bit more annoying is the well meaning friends (two of my friends are actually nurses) and being somehow the nutcase because I seldomly do things the 'conventional way' it seems....never mind that in all other areas of life they don't seem to have a problem critizising conventions -.-
Must admit though I'm allready feeling a bit anxious about the to be expected pressur from health officials etc. I simply dislike confrontations! |

| I'm so glad I found this website too! I have a 13 month old daughter who I have chosen not to vaccinate. My sisters and sister in law have all not vaccinated their children. It's one of the toughest decisions I've had to make, mainly because I was worried about the opposition I would face. We don't tend to tell people we haven't had our daughter vaccinated as people look at us as if we are mistreating her. However, if you think about it, you are making a more responsible choice by thoroughly researching the matter first, rather than blindly going along with the general population in what is a very important health matter.
My daughter was born 3 weeks prematurely by c-section. She had pyloric stenosis at 5 weeks and an operation and was hospitalised at 8 weeks with suspected meningitis - she hadn't had any vaccinations then. She was absolutely fine, but as a result of her early traumas, she regularly received cranial osteopathy and homeopathic treatment.
The health visitors did ask me if I was vaccinating her and I told them that because of her early problems I felt it would be too much for her to be bombarded with all these vaccinations. I told would wait until she was a little bigger. I was told that I should get her "immunized" soon because she was crawling and could get tetanus......seems like they need to do a little bit more research themselves.
Anyway after all this very long blurb, does anyone else have any prize comments they make to the doctors/health visitors when they press them about this? Someone told me they say they are vaccinating their children alternatively. Or that they are waiting until they are a little older. I'm seeing my health visitor next week so would love some advice, she will be asking me.
Also what about public swimming pools, I'm not worried about the old view of contracting polio, I'm more concerned about the chlorine - any suggestions?
By the way if anyone wants any interesting information, there is a fantastic homeopath, Trevor Gunn, in Brighton who gives very informative discussions on vaccination. I also heard a talk by a Dr Vera Shreiber who was very interesting also.
Looking forward to your advice!!! |
