Parent support groups

After 3 years of keeping pretty quiet that I had not vaccinated my son, and more recently, my daughter, I felt that I needed to meet other like-minded parents. I didn't know anyone else at the time of that difficult decision making, and felt very isolated. (This website would have been my 'best friend'!) Once we had decided though, I thought that the issue was closed. However, the matter is very much on going! Drs, A & E, health visitors, playgroup questionairs, holidays abroad, etc. And that is just on the vaccination issue. I found that the path of non-vaccination and seeking a strong immune system, leads me to refuse many standard forms of looking after my children, namely antibiotics and calpol...and urges good nutrition and natural practitioners. So this year I 'actively' looked for other like minded mums (and dads) and we meet up each month. We share experiences, and ideas for good health, and we set topics that we want to discuss or invite a speaker for. We squashed 15 people in last month! There are now 5 groups in the greater london area and the plan is that this network will spread naturally nationwide... The support and information shared is wonderful and I am posting this in the hope that other non-vaccinated families can meet up, as it were, via mums.

Hi Anna,

I'm moving to London next December. I live in Venezuela (South America) and I'm the only Mom I know who does not vaccinate her kids. I have a 17 year old daughter and at the time she was born I didn't have any knowledge about vaccinations but I noticed my little one would get sick almost every month and doctors will prescribe antibiotics and all kinds of medicines and she would only get worst. When she turned 4 I begun to read about antibiotics and vaccines and decided not to give her any of those any more and she got healthier and healthier. Then I had three more kids and never gave them any shots, vaccines, cow milk, etc. They are all very healthy! I would like to go to one of your meetings and share and learn more from your group.

My email address is alba_young@yahoo.com

Best regards,

Alba

Hi This is my first time here. What a great and informative site. Does anybody know of any support groups in the Bath/Somerset area for parents who have not vaccinated their children? I have not been able to find anything on the internet and would love to meet like minded parents. Cheers Susie
